The Railcar Inspector is also responsible to ensure inspection and maintenance is conducted in a sage and quality manner. The purpose of this position is to ensure the railcar is maintained and returns to service in compliance with owners', regulatory, and industry standards/specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned. Performs thorough inspection of railcars/railcar components. Maintains current knowledge of government, industry (FRA & AAR), customer, and company policy, procedures, and work instructions. Inspects and ensures workmanship meets government, industry (FRA & AAR), customer, and company quality requirements. Inputs estimates for maintenance and qualification and alterations into computer estimate system.
