Inevitably, Sinclair has seen it all. As a former stonemason his creative skills allow him to restore dismembered bodies, with the aid of a photograph, to a fully identifiable condition. From burns to car accident victims, he uses a special facial wax to rebuild tissues and, if needed, reattach bodily features such as ears. Despite his life-long services to the profession, he is met with a challenge "every day, every day" he repeats. "No two deceased are the same. You have to rectify the situation like a puzzle. " Sinclair displays a very practical but reverential disposition about the procedure. However, he admits that having to embalm children or friend's relatives can be an emotional challenge: "You start associating the love you give your own family to the deceased. " In the embalming room, it's a solo job: Sinclair, the deceased and background music. What does an embalmer listen to? "What do you think, organ music or something? " he roars with laughter. "It's either the radio or my iPod. "

Eye Caps (Prevents eye lids from opening during embalming) Legal Requirements Embalming is not typically required by law, except in extenuating circumstances. A viewing of the body without embalming is allowed in private for family and friends if desired. The body would be kept in cold storage until the viewing occurs. In the case of a public viewing, such as in a funeral home, the laws differ between states. Also, some funeral homes do require it. How meaningful is this job 70% of them said they were satisfied with their job and 82% said they find that their job makes the world a better place or helps to make someone else's life better. The remains are dressed in the outfit chosen by the family. This outfit almost always includes underwear, shoes, and socks. In the case of autopsy or other difficulties, plastic undergarments are placed on the body to prevent leakage. Finally comes casketing. The body is placed into the casket and posed in the proper position. The family normally views the body at this point and decides on any changes that need to be made. During the viewing period (which can sometimes last for several days) the embalmer will periodically check the body for signs of decomposition and takes any corrective action.
